I have a custom built independent front end with a manual rack from a commodore VB to VL. I want to change this
to a power steer rack. Can any one tell me if the later commodore racks are the same measurement between the rack ends
Need to keep the same measurements to avoid bump steer
Cheers

Re: Commodore power steer racks
Whilst I can't give you a straight out answer it would make sense that they are the same, otherwise those models with PS would suffer bump steer.
If Holden wanted or needed a different rack for PS they would have had to alter the control arm length and mounting points, or vehicle track to accommodate the change.
Why not find a power rack for sale and ask the seller to measure the distance between the inner swivels and if I'm right, buy it.
Have you thought about an EPAS (electric power assist system) in the column. I'm just about to delete the hydraulic PS from our MightyBoy and use EPAS instead with a different manual rack.

Never argue with an idiot, they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Re: Commodore power steer racks
Fairly sure that the PS rack would be the same length providing it came from the same vehicle. The only thing that may be different is the length of the steering arms on the stub axle. Some vehicles had shorter arms for PS than manual but i don't know if Holden was one of them
