I certainly missed a great weekend.
Some quick times there.

If it has tits or wheels, you can expect trouble.

It was a great weekend. It needed more racers but spectator numbers weren't too bad. I keep telling people to do a run but they're scared of breaking something. I say, just treat it like a spirited run from the traffic lights.
I was entered in the Hotrod class with my HA/GR HAMBster and managed to take out the final.

Spanners,
Your task is now to get me to drive down in the Fargo and give it a run.
I've always said I wouldn't run it down the strip as I'm the crumple zone. But it does look like a fun weekend.
I haven'[t been to Heathcote drags of almost 30 years!
I'm fairly sure I can find another Ozrodder to come with me.

Re: Nostalgia drags video clip
Hey Zuffen, if you watch the video there's an FJ that is street driven and I think was running 16s or so but was having a ball. I've been building a '53 Dodge Fargo on a HQ ute chassis for too many years but would love to able to give it a run on the 'strip one day.
The Australian Nostalgia racers are a good bunch and would welcome anyone and anything as long as it was of the chrome bumper era. They are planning a 3 part series in 2024. Wyalla in April, Mildura and then Heathcote. I've been doing harvest truck driving to put some money in the piggy bank for it.
Mildura was another great event in August. It's 1/8th mile so is easier on the car.

Re: Nostalgia drags video clip
It would be interesting if they would accept the vehicle as it's a 1982 base but a Tribute to the Little Red Wagon that dates from the mid 60's.
Be worth some enquiry.

Re: Nostalgia drags video clip
I can't see why they wouldn't allow it. There was an XD Ford running at Heathcote which if I remember correctly didn't have chrome bumpers when they came out . As long as it's in the scheme of nostalgia. Australia hasn't got the variety of early stuff like the USA to be too picky.
Send an email to Australian Nostalgia Racers and send a photo. Their president Ron Mills is a very nice bloke and he'll help. He builds some seriously nice cars as well.

That's me in the orange HAMBster at the 19.59 mark on the video. The bloke in the roadster is Ron the president of the Australian Nostalgia Racers.

Re: Nostalgia drags video clip
Oops! Slight blunder on my behalf. The president of the Australian Nostalgia Racers is Ron Smith not Mills as I reported earlier.
