Tool name for overlapping sheet metal joints

Wondering if anyone would know the technical name for the tool to make overlapping sheet metal joints, maybe some kind of bead roller.

Any bead roller will come with three different step dies for different thickness sheets.

Yes totally agree with your choice Marcus, they are only a little more to pay but do a lot more and are used in every sheet metal shop for creating lock seams on ductwork

Thanks for the help guys and wondering is there any advantages to have to 450mm Sheet Metal Shear or will the smaller one do the same job.

Now that I know what there called I see Hare & Forbes Machinery House in Brisbane has them and other toys available well that's if they didn't have 10 feet of flood water through there premises.

Here's our new and last ever project that were going to rat rod, a 1954 Humber Hawk MK 6. One is a 1/2 restored car that's in need of some rust repairs and the other is a rusty parts car.

You can also get joggler pliers. I think you can get air jogglers as well on ebay

Hare & Forbes can deliver within a couple days if you pay over the phone even to the regional areas, very impressive service, and I noticed today they sell those joggle pliers.
Re metal shears, I just use cutoff discs in an angle grinder, anything bigger I get it done at the local steel supplier, I found they also do excellent laser cutting

That's what I've found to there service is outstanding, just recently I purchased new chucks for the pedestal drill and lathe.

Used to be a good machining business in town run by two old school guys, now retired and shut up shop, have no one reliable to go to here, sent drawings and instructions to make something to a small business in Rathmines last September, after many emails they did nothing, I finally gave up and contacted them and said I will get it done locally, who to ask to do it? I still don't know. Locals here are busy doing big money jobs.
Might buy this to remind me there's worse places than Australia to be located when trying to build a rod, not a lot of difference though.

Found a local who was doing lathe work but OMG he's now moved away . As I'm in the country on a property and there's no one around that will help me I'm thinking of saving the $$ together and buying a lathe, Hare and Forbes sell what looks like a good size lathe. You're better off finding a s/h name brand machine. I've had a couple of chinesium ones over the years and some are ok others are just crap. The supplied tooling is just a waste of time. Buy decent tooling and you will get a much nicer job and accurasey

I have two horizontal band saws. One is an old machine made in Taiwan. It has a worn out part that I can't source so I purchased an new Hafco saw. Made in China. Total piece of rubbish by comparison. I should have purchased a used machine off marketplace.

I once returned a power saw I purchased from them that last 2 days before it died.

I have a couple of the old Taiwan machines here. One is for parts. I also have access to a couple others. Let me know what you need and I might have it, or be able to get it.

Mine takes a 1540 mm blade.

I think most stuff is Chinese now, and some parts are non existent for machines still available in store! or too expensive to make it worthwhile
I had issues with equipment I bought at Bunnings recently, they couldn't get parts for items I only bought in 2020. I previously bought a porta power from Hare and Forbes and it didn't work so I understand your thoughts,
Ive spent so much time trying to come up with fixes for equipment there's little time to work on projects

The issue I had with the lathe my employer had was you couldn't drop the speed to do larger diameter jobs, the lathes at TAFE were much better, much of the s/h stuff on Gumtree is Hafco as well, they have an auction here in town but that's a once a year December event, I only want one to do a handful of small diameter jobs, shame all the hotrod and custom shops don't do small stuff anymore.
