i have not seen a lot of new builds with louvres i have had them on quiet a few of my cars starting back in 1959 when i sent a couple of bonnets to Sydney from Melb west suburbs on a truck
i have even put them on my commodore ute parts getter and an XD ute i had in 1980

Re: ARE LOUVRES DYING OUT
Hello, I don't know the answer to your question, but I personally think anything with louvres looks cool.
Now I just did some arithmetic and 1959 was 61 years ago, so that means you must be well into your eighth decade? This is great that you still have the passion for hot rods, customs and classics. I have a mate who has built a lot of cars over the years, and he won't mind me mentioning his name; Terry Scully. Terry still has about five rods and he is still in his factory building stuff. He is nearly 80!
Regards Dave

I've never had a car with a louvered hood (bonnet), but I've always thought mu 54 Hudson would look good with them. My brother has a Pullmax, and louver dies... I drive my cars year-round in any weather... do you get much water in the engine compartment when driving in the rain?
