Hi guys,
I have a problem with the Centura diff that I am installing in my roadster that is doing my head in.
The uni joint is bolted to the diff yoke using clamps and bolts that screw directly in to threaded holes in the yoke.
Somewhere between my shed, the paint shop and back to my shed the above mentioned bolts have been lost.
No problem you would think, just buy new bolts, but that is the problem because every bolt that I try is the wrong thread.
I have tried M6 Metric fine and coarse (which screw in about 3 threads and then jam), 1/4 inch UNC AND 1/4 inch UNF, none of them fit.
Does anybody happen to know what thread those bolts should be.
They are definitely 6mm or 1/4 inch, but what thread?

Hardy Spicer lists for a Centura -
21R 27.39 RUJ-2038 106 0.250-28 17-24Nm
1.078 RUJ-2038R 13-18ft/lb
1/4" x 28tpi
= 1/4" UNF

Re: Centura Diff problem
Thanks Greg
For some reason the 1/4 inch UNF doesn`t want to start threading in to any of the 4 holes.
Maybe I need to run a tap through them

Re: Centura Diff problem
Probably got some crap in there. Fairly sure most of those were 1/4 UNF. Just run a tap through them and it shouldn't cut any metal if just cleaning up
