Re: SPINNER FORDS
The spinners did have terrible steering box's but if they in good condition and you were familiar with the car they were OK, one of those old timey spinners fitted to the steering wheel came in very handy at times
If it has tits or wheels, you can expect trouble.

Off topic, I know, but that's a tidy looking chassis jig setup ...

Here’s a pic of my 50 Tudor sedan. It’s all stock running gear (it has an overdrive transmission) with Aerostar front springs and 3”blocks in the back. Dual exhaust with straight through mufflers. It’s had a repaint in the original Palisades green colour but isn’t really restored. Just a good old stocker. Rides along nice and smooth and gets about 22mpg on the highway.

i do remember a couple with the bonnet wrapped over the windscreens tho and one with a fan thru the bonnet
i had the bonnet modify the roof on my FX on the back straight at sandown once tho so ford didnt have it on its own

I put an XE power steering box in mine but had a huge headache sorting it out and getting it passed. Re: SPINNER FORDS
You talking about cross ply's, I think 1966 was the last of them for me, my first radials were SP41 or something like that...cant remember the brand. Next were the mighty Dunlop Aquajets on 14x7'' widiespilot Dave wrote:been a long while since i drove a spinner many moons
