At least you are back into it. That’s still progress.

Nice progress so far. Weather still hot?
Yeah. I've changed my signature. The old one was out of date...

It's supposed to be in the 80's for a few days, then drop into the 70's again. I've gotten sidetracked, by a 57 Chevy pickup that I'm helping out with, for a friend. I started out by just assembling the IFS for him, after someone else welded in the crossmember. Since then, I put in engine mounts, a trans crossmember, installed the engine and trans, power brake booster under the floor, all new brake lines, fuel lines, made power steering hoses, put in a tilt column, and now I'm nearing completion of a complete re-wire. I've never had the luxury of being able to buy everything out of a magazine like this. It's kind of cool, but I do enjoy having to figure things out on my Hudsons.

At least you're still working on hot rods (of a kind..).
And your brain is still working on the Hudson while you're at it!

You’re so right… I’ve built it over and over in my head.

Yes. I take the dog for a walk. While my body is busy walking, my brain is problem solving.
Covid masks are handy here. People passing can't see I'm talking to myself!

I spent some time Sunday trying to come up with a game plan for making my headers. First thing, was to figure out how to make the round header tubing fit the oval ports of the header flanges, and be consistent and repeatable. This stub is 4” long. I would like to have it at 2”. Overall, I’m happy with the fit. I didn’t have to use any heat. I will try it with a shorter piece of tubing sometime this week.

That is a good fit for sure.
Could just run the tig around the inside for a clean install.

I think that's what I'll do, if my brother can give me a lesson, and let me use his welder.

We are hosting the monthly meet of our local chapter of the Hudson club tomorrow, so a shop cleanup was in order. I got my 54 outside in preparation, and took a couple of photos. I just love the view from the back.I will try to get pictures of the visiting vehicles and the lineup in the building and post them in the events.

Our event went well on Saturday, and I posted some pictures in the events section. I got started on the headers on Sunday. I didn’t get too far. The rear tube is going to go under the strut, as shown. The front three will go over it.
