....the slightly longer than stock HQ hose we had made up so it mounts up on the frame.....no doubt someone will claim some sort of engineering issue here,but I've been doing these this way and having them passed without issue for a mightly long time.

Sorry col I wasnt trying to make a saga out of it, just exchanging information I call it. I think the girling calipers I have might be from a wb and are bigger than the hq ones. The ford wheel would not fit over the caliper. I tried it without the caliper and it bolted right up, so I guess the later holden ran 15 or 16 ins wheels :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?:

14X7 12 slotters fitted my application.
If you go to "DBA" Australia.
They have an extensive catalogue on line for disc rotors . Every make and model from A-Z . Each rotor has every dimension including wheel hub size and number of studs . Handy to print and keep for 'research" .

Yeah Monty, it's been done. a 351 Windsor but in a HQ.
Not me but someone that liked being different :D

Done well before that.. People were putting y blocks in fj's :D (just a little bit refreshing from all the chevs in fords, lol)

Yup back then when this was attempted/done ,all that was easy to obtain and affordable for V8 wanters was the Y Block . I remember around 1968/69 at the East Sale RAAF base inside a hangar known as "The Hobby Hut" where we could repair our vehicles and boats etc ,there was an FJ project sitting with a Y Block in it . This vehicle was covered in dust and most likely belonged to someone who had abandoned it after being posted out to some other base .
SBC became fashionable and more abundant and affordable into the 70's . They were also the most friendly engine swap, thus the popularity .

As Col stated P76 are the go as they are Ford bolt pattern, plus you get a narrower front track. Holden calipers are used. RodTech make a kit however I'm not sure if DBA rotors are still available?

XR-XT hubs will fit, and take the HK disc easily, BUT they are too hard to find.
