Been tinkering around getting some things crossed off the list, so hard to find time with lots to do around here.
Image
Image
Inner guards were a bit of a pain and the frame for the wings mount to them like the original, I changed the angle the guards go down at the back to try to take some of the visual length from the nose. I have to keep puttting the cowl and windscreen on to get perspective.
Image
Rear wheel tubs are in just need final welding when I flip it over.
Image
Grill is mounted and have found some headlights to go in just need to make some mount as the original is a swing up style.
Image
Lower radiator mounts are in for a standard BA radiator. I bought a whole car for 2 bottles of rum. I am thinking of using the computer out of it too, a friend can reprogram it to run on its own with out all body control stuff.

Box steel and sheet $100
Complete BA Falcon for radiator and pedal and probably other bits $100 (already made half money back wrecking it)
Minus EMU EFI Computer $1080 ( I will use it on my ute project)
Cost $2440

Thanks for looking in

Got a guard done now doing the second.
Image
Beaded and sitting in position ready to be trimmed and welded. The step also.
Image
It is wide
Image
Bit of a mission to get it to fit tight around all these angles, some parts will be sealed with body sealer.
Image
Inner guard looks reasonable
Image
Most welding complete that can be reached on the car
Image
Image
Added a tab to secure it to the chassis. It all looks a bit agricultural but this car will be driven gravel, sand, rain whatever. FFF.

Cost $2440

Thanks for looking in

Got some work done on the other side last week but didn't get time to upload them. Just got home from the hole in the ground last night. Expect more this week.
Image
Beaded and started welding
Image
Jeep usually has a flip style bracket which I don't want so come up with these. The top radiator mount will hook onto this some how and then maybe some speed holes to break them up a bit.
Image
Narva adjustable buckets nice and easy to mount
Image
Got to find some indicators.

Headlight mounts $100 ouch
H4 headlights 5 3/4 inch $49

Cost $2389

Thanks for looking in

Well I took the guards off today and welded in between other jobs.
Image
Made some clearance for uni joint at firewall
Image
Used the floor mount from the donor Falcon.
Image

Image
Welded in some nuts for the front bumper mounts. Just need to cut the frame to length and cap the end next. The bumper is made you can see it sitting in one of the other photos. On a side note the Falcon I got from my mate for 2 bottles of rum has made me $220 so far :D :D :D

Cost $2389

Thanks for looking in

Hi Brock,

Always good to see your updates, your achieving a lot for a little and good to see something different being built.

I have a question about the beads in the front guards to help me work out how to make the main panel for my petrol tank cover. The cover has a smaller angle bend in it compared to your guards and I'm wondering if the guards were bent to shape before or after the beads were done.

I'm guessing the panel would get harder to bend once the beads have been done?

Cheers,
Peter

That looks alot flasher than mine. Nice work, I got some more done on mine before it got pushed to the side.
Image
Front bumper is on, just needs end caps.
Image
Image
Mocked the window up to keep me inspired.
Image
Then stacked all the parts in it and pushed it into the corner. I have got a Prefect that a mate owns in my shed to mount the body on. Will get some other bits done when I can.

$2389

Thanks for looking in.
