Yes I’m glad I waited, they look crazy, they are huge, 865mm high, as I wheeled them out the tyre shop it felt like they were aeroplane wheels.
The upholstery, well I’ve had a few hiccups, the one piece roof lining is a headache, it just doesn’t fit and mid fifties just wiped their hands of me, a few people have had a go and failed, I took a break from it, the seat came out ok I suppose but I’m not happy, I’ve had some more practice now so I’ll give it another go.
Then there is the wipers, another headache, I’m using the greasy rack and pinion type and first the grease dried up, then the stroke was too big so what a pain to change the stroke but still too big and that’s another thing that need attention.
The bloke who told me when you get it 99% complete there is only 99% toga wasn’t pulling my leg.

Bit how’s ya mother I know, but I’m getting a bit of practice and we will see what comes next.

Have a look at this method for your headliner. I am a trimmer and find it easy to do and can customize it suit your look

I will need to sit and read it more carefully, I take my hat off to motor trimmers.

What type of headliner did you get , is it a 1 piece abs plastic type ?

Yes it is the ABS headliner, I have the big back window and the supplier mid Fifties can’t show me a finished product fitted to a bbw only a small window where the window rubber goes over the headliner.

Looks great! The problem is as you said, pain to fit.

I did manage to get it in with the help of my wife .
But in the process we did brake a few of the clips off the back of it , but it still sits up there very well without them .
Lot's of swearing and throwing tools helps .

Hi Folks
Back again, after a series of setbacks I’m finally in contact with the local automotive engineer.
Started with engine sensors failing, then I got a permit to drive and went to get the weigh bridge and wheel alignment and the transmission went into limp mode,transmission computer got killed by the smallest wasp nest you’ve ever seen, well $1800 later new computer installed and out for another test and the Dakota instrument computer failed, replaced that $600 later, then the heater motor stopped, then while putting in the door window chrome weather stops the side window busted, so a few hundred bucks and had new windows made and I’m back on the road, got a permit to drive to the All American show and it ran out of fuel, that’s cause it has two tanks and for some reason beyond physics it was drawing from one tank, now with a Brown Davis 6 way valve that’s fixed…..phew, well I had to stop at the other end on the show area away from everyone but still managed 2nd in the commercial judging.

Just wondering what’s next!

Finally got a date with the engineer, but he tells me the offset on the front is not right, I have zero offset and he tells me must be +21 To +33. Bugger I need a set of front wheels.

Borrow a set that works then swap back once registered.

Most people with modified cars would have the incorrect offset on their wheels.
