Ray Ellis's A roadster, got rear ended by a woman on the way down from Sydney. From memory it was freshly painted too. Ray gets on here occasionally, user name of Early Iron.

"Absurdity is my Reality"
Freduce - we must have been at the same spot. That's my 64 El Camino in the background. I keep promising to learn how to use our scanner, and I'll post some old shots.

Hi guys;
I'm on again........ The story about the rear ender is this -- After convincing my newly acquired friends and yet-to-be Hot Rodders Dianne and Dave Chapple to attend the Nationals I figured I'd let Dave have a drive after a fuel stop at Yass. We were heading into Jugiong on the Hume Highway and the traffic ahead starts to pull up for a caravan entering a park. Dave applied the brakes reasonably firm so I thought I'd look out the back window to check nothing was too close behind. There was an XR Falcon sedan stopping behind so I turned to the front again when Sceeeeech; Bang - BANG and we get shunted forward a few feet.
A VW Sedan had hit the XR on it's R/H/R snapping the rear spring hanger clean off the rail and writing off both the VW and XR - (or so I was told).
After moving to the side of the highway; picking up the pieces of my R/H '39 teardrop glass lens and being interviewed by the police we on our way with me driving as Dave figured it had been his fault. To this day he still feels guilty. After this episode the car ended up being rebuilt and painted black with flames. This Hiboy had originally been built by Warren Goodall and back then would have been one of the nicest Model 'A' Hiboys on '32 rails in Australia.
Hope this clears things up.
