Officially the last panel is on!

Image
Finally got time to take the truck out and get some shots of the tailgate in the sun.

Image
A lot of hand forming and bead rolling went into making the whole tailgate from a flat sheet of 1.2mm/18g cold rolled metal. But it was worth it!

You have done an amazing job and whilst I have had no time for my own project at the moment watching your videos of the Willy's coming together is the inspiration to keep my dream alive.

Congratulations and get out and enjoy your hard work, especially with Summer around the corner.

Just stunning. Words can't explain the difference between the first and last photos on the Thread.

Yes, feeling that a bit at the moment. Only driven to the painters and back for its final cut and polish so far. End of next month the last painted will be fully cured, so will take it out more after that. :)

A stunning project, such attention to detail and also sharing it with everyone at the same time.. An inspiration to the rest of us 'mere mortals'...
I never make the same mistake twice, I do it 5 or 6 times just to be sure !!!

You Sir, have the most patient and understanding wife.

Now get onto her car and make it happen before you're both too old to enjoy them.

Yep!

"What he said!" (All of it...)

Looking forward to that day when it's out for some outdoorsy pix.
Yeah. I've changed my signature. The old one was out of date...

Was reading the current edition of the biggest car magazine in the country and my Truck was in it!

Image
I had submitted once before, but think I had way to much detail and photos, so never saw it published in the 'In the build' section.

Image
So I tried again and rewrote it hoping it was the right subject matter, as it is not for 4wd's at all, but for high performance street and strip, (usually Aussie muscle) cars. So was quite surprised to see it in there last night. They changed the GrandWillys name of it though. :D

Maybe they will accept it also now that it is back together and painted for the readers rockets section. You never know.

It's really heartening when all your hard work is acknowledged by the Editors at Street machine.

To get into the magazine means you have created something special with your own hands.

Hopefully they will give it a full article as it does deserve it.

Congratulations.
