It looked neat going together in bare metal. Now, with the odd tease of colour in the photos, it is stunning. The finish looks like a high-end late model, but with the class of an early Willys. You have more than earned the title of Coachbuilder.

The interior looks brilliant.

You should be very happy with how it going together.

Thank you mate. All going together without modifications to anything, which is nice so far. :)
Glad I took a lot of pictures pulling it down though as makes it easier for sure.

A well-oiled machine, quality across the board.
You'll need more painted parts soon, so you have something to do.

I now have nearly all the engine bay components fitted. Here the newly repainted coil covers are not yet fitted to show what it looks like.

Image
Now with the covers fitted that I made from some old GEN 1 Hemi rocker covers. I decided in the end to go with a tradition silver and black. Also got the lettering highlighted and they did a great job on it. First painting the cover black, then overlaying the silver before carefully rubbing over the lettering until the black underneath showed through!

Image
The last things can now go into place which is the suspension tower brace and the horn. Everything in semi gloss black to keep the focus on the engine and not what's around it. There is practically nowhere you would have seen the inner guards even if they were painted body colour anyway.

Image
The guards, grille, valance and the newly re-chromed bumper with the parking sensors are all back on.

Image
Bonnet ready to lifted on with the help of my wife. I had to bend the 'wings' of the front ornament back a little to have it sit properly, which was very nerve racking as it is cast from pot metal and could easily snap!

Image
Bonnet went back on easily without a scratch. Getting closer to being completed everyday.

I agree with Frank and the others - the highest of quality outcome 8)

Personally, it's a great feeling to see all of this. Many recent posts from forum members are people that have watched this come together for many years. I knew from page 1 this would be a cracker build and knew that it would come to this at some point - awesome to be at this point I'd bet.

I am happy for the Willys too. This truck has become much more than it ever had a chance of being.

Thanks for posting

The Hemi rocker covers look so right in there.

Total class all the way.

Motorex quality Marcus, that's too nice for off road duties but I know you will.
I have to agree with Zuffen on the rocker covers, the engine bay looks fantastic.

Wow, many thanks for the replies and the long continued support of the build. :)
Keeps looking better as it revels itself as more goes on each week.

I only have the doors left to assemble before I have no more panels as all the bed panels are being blocked ready for sealer and primer etc before being left for 2 weeks to gas off and shrink before blocking again.

Funny you should mention Motorex as when the owner of Donburn Customs dropped off the bonnet for me, it was too big for the back of my jeep to take home, he asked me if I was entering it. I said maybe on the oval outside as I don't think it is good enough for inside. He said they had two cars there this year and this deserves to be there just as much as it is the most custom vehicle they have ever worked on! So I said he can take it then. :D
