Heated windscreens. A demisting solution?

Hi All.
I cam across this facebook posting recently

Not sure if they are still importing etc, but to me this sounds like the ideal solution to fitting windscreen demisters to Hot Rods.
A lot of hot rod dashboards don't have any area adjacent to the windscreen to place hot air outlet vents.
There is a catch: As I read it, windscreens are made with the element in place, so I would imagine the manufacturers wouldn't make one as a one0off.
But if enought (say) '32 Ford owners wanted them?

They are polycarbonate windscreens , would they be legal here for street use ?, as they have to meet aussie safety glass standards .

My bad Jeffa , i thought i read it somewhere that they were pollycarbonate .

Can they be done in curved glass or is it flat glass only.

I would hate to think how expensive (say) a HR Holden screen would be.

I assume/guess the heating elements would be sandwiched between the glass like the vinyl layer.

From what I read on their site (and others) it seems the windscreens are "made to order" And need a sufficient quantity to proceed.
Looks like a lot of pommie cars are catered for, so I guess the company doing them is either British or European.
And yes, Rod the wires are sandwiched it between the glass layers.
I think a hair dryer and some convoluted hose is cheaper.

I ran two 12volt hair dryers as demisters on my Range Rover for a few years.

I didn't reinstall them when I put the new motor is so now I don't have demisters but as it doesn't have doors, side windows or a roof it's a bit academic.

Yes, OEMs have been doing this for a while, particularly in Europe and North America where the cold weather dominates lifestyle. It is different to the rear demister - the wires are super thin, sandwiched between the inner and outer layers of glass, and made of tungsten. Company listed in the OP would be getting this work done in Thailand or China, where the closest OEM suppliers are....
