steve the ford guy wrote: Thu Mar 09, 2023 12:23 pm I think a small top chop of 2" and widening the grill shell at the bottom should improve the look. Model T, Model A to 32 Fords had grille shells with straight up and down sides and Ford dramatically changed the look with the 33, 34 model. The grille shell sloping inwards towards the bottom on this car doesn't look quite right to me
Will make some changes for sure without trying to make it look like a 32 Ford. There are details on that model like the vertical sides to the windscreen posts that I prefer to this which slope outwards. I don't want to loose the identity of it being a Willys though.

Lisa is already looking for a name for her car. It already has to be female as it comes with a Goddess Mascot on top of the radiator, https://www.wokr.org/gallery/wil_hc_18.htm and thought a character name that is a bit gangster from the 1930's would suit. Top choice is Elvira from the Scarface movie might suit? Any other suggestions?

enjenjo wrote: Thu Mar 09, 2023 1:02 pm Of course it doesn't look right. It's not a Ford, and no need to make it look like a Ford. Make it the best Willys ever.

No offence meant. The grille being narrower at the bottom was a bit of a trademark for Willys in most of the 30s until they went to pontoon fenders.
Just to expand on my idea for widening the grill shell at the bottom. There really looks like there's space to accommodate this down there, the benefits I originally should have said are extra width to fit the wider V8 engine without sectioning/widening the whole body just for the wider engine.

1932 cars of many manufacturers other than Ford had straight sided grill shells so it's unlikely your finished car will be mistaken by anyone for a 32 Ford (except enjenjo  ) no offense meant  .

Some ideas for Aussie female gangsters from that era. Please forgive the link to prostitution - no offence intended. These were real hard-women of their era.

I think Pearl Elliot may have been a gangster moll and hung around Dillinger.
I would go for Stephanie St Clair though.

I hope the Admins are more awake than the Ozrodders Facebook mob.

5 months and still waiting for acceptance.

Perhaps they don't like the Forum being sorted out.
Never argue with an idiot, they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

It's a private group so can't see it. Probably the '33 coupe version for $15,000?
