Mick, it sounds like it may be running a bit lean at highway speeds. Take it to a carb overhaul place or somewhere where they have a exhaust analyiser and check what is happening at highway revs. Also a good thing is to put filters in your return radiator hoses to stop any crud getting into the radiator. The timing should be ok where it is.
good luck.

Just a quicky:
If it was the thermostat (not opening, or far enough), I would expect the radiator to be relatively cool.
Simple test, temporarily leave the thermostat out.
Excuse MY ignorance here: this is a flattie? Don't they have two water pumps? If so, is there two thermostats?

I have to go into the shed and do some stuff to the Bucket for the rumble, and go out later this arvo, so might not be back for shutdown.

So, once again, thanks Greg and Dave for a great place, I learnt a lot and had a lot of laughs.

And will the last person here please turn out the lights, I hate wasting power.

Catch ya on the flip side.

Cheers, Jimbob

Yeh Flatoz just some time to down tools for a little while.

Dave will have more time on his hands to fix the 40's Brakes and........
well perhaps enough on that.

I am sure Internet sites / Forums will watch and learn from the HRI-BR / ASRF Debarcle and the new site will be bigger and better.
