I can't believe nobody has called up other Oz movies:

"The FJ Holden" - Kevin & his yellow FJ (Sorry, FCCOOL did!)

"Puberty Blues" - vans aplenty (Sorry, FCCOOL did!)

"Alvin Purple" - the big car chase with Alvin's red Charger

"The Wog Boy" - Steve's Pacer

"Love The Beast" - Eric Bana's lifelong obsession

"Cars That Ate Paris" - weird shyte! (Sorry, FCCOOL did!)

"Midnight Spares" (Sorry, AngliaDon did!)

"Metal Skin" - bare metal Charger

"Dirty Deeds" - must have been lots of local Sydney restored classics used in this one
No signature yet, still working on it. Bit like the Roadster, really!

is that the movie with the yellow ute getting thrashed and a mint immaculate brougham being shot at.
i was going to mention metal skin but i thought the cars were too new, i remember being all excited about that movie coming out, got to the drive in early for a good spot, everything was going good and then all that wich crap started and the movie got boring.
i guess you could almost say two hands, from memory there is a house with a wilkinshaw and something else in the driveway but in frame is a letter box, seems to be purposely placed with a number like 179 or 186 just to add a bit of aussie flavour too the movie and pando's falcon coupe ofcourse, a car you dont steal.
not sure if anyone has it but there was a very low budget movie made a few years back by Robert Cleave called "hot rod girls from hell", if fancy slick hollywood specail effects are your thing you wont like this movie but i liked it, it had a few cars and bands and faces aome of us would be familiar with at et events.

I was uncertain whether to start a thread on this topic but I am glad I did now - lots of cool viewing suggestions

I forgot to post this pic of McQueen smoking the hides in Bullitt 8)

I enjoyed Love the Beast by Eric Bana which reminds me of the XA Coupe owned by Pando in Two Hands (now owned by Merrick Watts I believe)

the 300-hp 289 Ford Cobra V-8 fitted to the koach

FACTS ABOUT THE KOACH:
The Koach was made from 3 Model T bodies and is 18 feet long.
The 133" frame was made by hand.
It has a 300-hp 289 Ford Cobra V-8 built with Jahns high compression pistons, ten chrome plated Stromberg carburetors, an Isky cam, and had a set of Bobby Barr racing headers.a four speed manual transmission and a power rear end.
The brass radiator and fenders were hand formed.
In 1964, the cost to build the first one was $18,000.00.
It had "blood red" velvet interior.
It took 500 hours to hand form the ornate rolled steel scrollwork.
It had Gloss Black Pearl paint.
The front end had a dropped axle, split radius rods and T springs.
The studio gave George Barris 21 days to complete the car.
Herman in costume was seven feet tall, and could not enter or exit the car on camera. He had to drive it in regular shoes instead of his costume.

FACTS ABOUT THE DRAG-U-LA
The Drag-u-la has a Dragmaster chassis, a 289 cid 350-hp Mustang V-8, 4-speed stick, and dragster slicks mounted on polished Rader 5-spoke wheels. On the front, English Speedsport wire wheels have mounted Italian motorcycle tires. With the upturned organ pipe exhaust, Grandpa says it's the only dragster in America that can play "Oh, Promise Me" in second gear.

Getting the casket for the car was, well, another story. Seems they went to buy a damaged casket, but the undertaker would not sell one to him since he wasn't dead. As soon as the funeral director left, they "appropriated" a casket, leaving the cash behind for payment.

Aussie biker movie from the '70s, Cozy Cool. By all accounts a really bad movie. But they visited the Bankstown Hot Rod Show plus went to Castlereagh drags. The Castlereagh footage they stole from Wheels On Fire.
Aussie B grade movie from the '80s, Running From The Guns. Had some great car chases and the good guys drove a genuine Shelby Cobra.

That truck from Duel was on American Trucker recently. It's owned by a trucking company and he claims it's the original truck from the movie.

I thought he had a BSA as well but this is clearly a knuck - on reflection I doubt he rode an English bike

The bike The Fonz rode in the credits was the same bike Steve McQueen rode in The Great Escape and to me looked like a BSA. They changed the bike in the actual episodes. Col

Cool thread guys.

Thunder Road was one of the first car movies I saw (at the drive-in, when it first came out...) Never forgot it. Now with the InnerNet, we can watch pretty much any movie whenever we want.

Did we mention "the Big Steal"? Ben Mendleson and Steve Bisley?
Yeah. I've changed my signature. The old one was out of date...
